Coming from a family of artists and designers, I grew up with a very firm idea of what I always wanted to do. Unfortunately, the gift of being able to paint didn’t exactly rub off, but the passion for creating beautiful things did.
After studying advertising in Newcastle for two years I packed my bags and headed up to Edinburgh where I was fortunate (after being very persistent) to land my first job in the big bad world of advertising.
I spent the next the 16 years honing my craft, developing successful campaigns, growing brands both locally and nationally, solving problems and developing robust strategies.
In that time, I became well versed in working with various mediums (ATL, BTL, digital) but it was always the direct sell that got me going. Using intelligent data and insights to tell a story that drives response. Which is why in 2016 I made the move to Union Direct to head up the creative department.
For now, I will need to leave it to my retirement to try and master my inner Monet!
